Friday - Fireworks, Carnival, Food, Music
The festival begins with a BANG! City of Fitchburg Fireworks Show is a powerful presentation that will be seen and heard throughout the city. Don't forget, all three days will feature carnival rides, and, of course, fantastic food and music in the entertainment tent.
Saturday - Irish entertainment, Cultural Tent
The Cultural Tent offers workshops in music, art, dance, and language which showcase the richness of the Irish culture. This year we are delighted to include a workshop on the uillean pipes by famed uillean pipe maker and artist, Tim Britton. Tim is well known throughout the world of traditional Irish music for his artistry and music, having previously performed with the group Chulrua. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet him!
Ever wanted to really curse at someone! Well, no one does it better than the Irish. Stop by and learn a few Gaelic sayings that are sure to make you feel better. Or, maybe it's a song or a dance that will do the trick. The Cultural Tent activities will offer you a chance to raise your voice and to kick your heels.
For the sports enthusiasts, you'll have a chance to talk to members of the Irish Curragh Club of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Hurling Team. Find out just what it is about this latter sport that makes people willing to get their skulls cracked open!
If your tastes run more toward the less physical pasttimes, you'll find lots to do! Visit and try your hand at spinning, weaving, tatting, or creating beautiful letters using Irish calligraphy and illumination techniques.
Whatever your interest in the Irish traditions, you'll find it at this year's Cultural Tent.
Sunday - Outdoor Games and Wristband Day at the Carnival
The food, games, and music continue! From Noon to 5, all the rides you can ride for $15. Perfect time to bring the kids out!
We start off Sunday morning with an ecumenical church service, and events continue the rest of the day!
We have something for everyone on Sunday!
Food
In the past year we have had the tremendous growth of fine restaurants in our community. Fitchburg Days will highlight these restaurants and their cuisine at our three day festival along with our non profit organizations and churches.
Children's Activities
All weekend long, enjoy the petting zoo and pony rides. Also, various activities in the Children's Tent throughout the weekend, as well as carnival games and crafts will keep the kids entertained for hours. Carnival games are one game for one ticket or three games for two tickets. Free face painting and balloons at various times as well!
